Once again, I read a designer’s post telling readers that “the user is no longer a spectator”.
How is this still a thing?
The user has never been a spectator.
Most of the time (but not all of the time), a website background should stay in the background. It should provide just enough color, just enough interest and style, and set the stage for your foreground content to do the talking.
You mean this one?
Well, I do mention “Aesthetics,” and look! There’s “Brand Tone”… that’s sort of designy. But how do all those rather un-designy components add up to the glorious space in the middle?
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a full day seminar presented by SEO Seminars Los Angeles. The seminar took participants beyond the fundamentals of search engine optimization, and gave us a taste of how deep a business can dig in the quest to acquire more web search traffic. I was particularly interested in learning more about SEO from a designer’s perspective.
A bakery client wanted to take their popular product to the next level and asked for a full business rollout, including brand identity, website, packaging, advertising and product ideas.
