Tree fences for a Los Angeles community
Making place is really more about making space for a community to express itself through the tools I provide as a designer.
I was never particularly activist about feminism, though I have always considered myself a feminist. My attitude was, “I just want to make stuff.” The only times I felt it was worth distracting myself from design and other creative work was when sexism got in the way of me doing it.
Los Angeles Art Collab
The best neighborhood in all of Los Angeles is in Mid City—a cluster of communities along Pico Boulevard between Fairfax and La Brea. Others may disagree, but I just want to lay that card on the table right now.
I think principles-led branding—and design—is the future within my industry, which gives me hope for everyone else.

I was most recently here with friends, and we separated out into a “workaholics” table (hello) and the “chatters” table (or self-described “meditators”)…
