Gems fabric in the dining room
Recently, I received an email asking about Haiku in a Prism, one of the Gems pattern colorways I offer on Spoonflower (a digital fabric printing website).
New Pattern: Baby Tears
I’m pretty happy with the final results of this pattern study. As simple as it appears, it seems to have endless color possibilities, and better: it has one or two satisfying quirks that elevate it beyond mere “floral”.
Another concept for punched and perforated steel.
New pattern: Ogee Garden
Returning to this awkwardly-named, but endlessly-intriguing motif, I filled a few more pages in a sketchbook and decided to pursue a loosely drawn “garden”.
When all you’ve got is paint
We live across the street from an elementary school in a struggling district. Awhile ago, I wrote about the collaborative mural project I designed and directed for them, but I realized only recently that I’d left out an important first step.

This statement remains popular, and of course, widely aspired-for.
Now it’s all done up in fancy, subtle textures and vibrant shades of blue. Available on Society6 as a beautifully produced gift, you can award the honor to a friend or to yourself (or both).
New tote bags
The upgrade was announced October 4 on the Society6 blog. I missed the announcement, but started noticing great looking Facebook posts from a few of the artists I follow and realized something awesome was up.
Community Collaboration: School Mural Project
This summer, I designed and directed a mural project for Saturn Elementary, a Los Angeles city school.
This was one of the promotional items created for the release of Westwood Studios’ PC game, Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny.
Researching products with a natural, hand-tooled feel for the semi-medieval fantasy role playing game, I found a bound journal at a […]
