A Scholar and a Gentlewoman mug by Penina on Society6This statement remains popular, and of course, widely aspired-for.

Now it’s all done up in fancy, subtle textures and vibrant shades of blue. Available on Society6 as a beautifully produced gift, you can award the honor to a friend or to yourself (or both). Click any of the images in this post to order.

For the mugs, we thought saying it once is plenty: no need to repeat it on both sides. What do you think?

We don’t have the same control on the totes or pillows, which repeat the design on front and back. The new layout, which allows us the cover the whole piece, rather than just a funky looking rectangle in the middle of the bag, is still cause for celebration over here (we generally celebrate with cookies).

For the tees, we allowed the text to go background-free, but brought the lovely blue hues onto the lettering. We agreed to offer most of the shirt colors, but our favorite is the Tri-grey (shown below).

And as always, Society6 has got exquisite art prints on museum quality paper* and beautifully finished canvas. So there’s that (starting at sizes 13 x 13″ for canvas and 10 x 12″ for framed art prints).

    Thanks, Julie!

It is a combination of a textured base layer, plus a total of five additional filters and layers. The final file is about half a gig, and 6500x6500px at its biggest.

I posted a few “work in progress” photos on Instagram: http://instagram.com/peninasharon

Did you use a graded background on the cup? Looks good!
