Most of the time (but not all of the time), a website background should stay in the background. It should provide just enough color, just enough interest and style, and set the stage for your foreground content to do the talking.

With that in mind, I’ve released a set of website background pattern tiles for sale on Creative Market.

Subtle Web Backgrounds: 6 Sophisticated Geometric Patterns

The set of six includes both flat and dimensionalized seamless patterns in warm gray, cool gray and “gray gray”. The next time I get a chance, I’m thinking I’ll do a similar set of nearly blacks. Let me know if you need those sooner.

Subtle Backgrounds on Creative Market (sample)Here’s a quick sketch of how your content can look with one of the backgrounds. To see all of them at full scale, head over to Creative Market and click on the image.

Set details:

  • six seamlessly-tiling PNG files you can drop right in to your design (they are 281 x 209px)
  • three color sets: warm grays, cool grays and pure grays
  • each color set has a flat and a dimensionalized version
