Tackling big content, big traffic
Here are a few of the sites I’ve done that wrangle huge quantities of content, served to massive audiences (arriving mainly via search).
Most of these are redesigns to update the look, add functionality, increase efficiency and more optimally monetize for the demographics of each site’s visitors. There is always a push-pull between departments on how much of monetization should be ads.
Within those requirements, I work with Development and Business Development teams to identify and prioritize types of content, and find ways to balance an impactful welcome (immediately informing users that they got what they were looking for) with progressive disclosure (presenting information only as the user requires it).
