Exhibit design: Cobalt Robotics

Cobalt Robotics is an award-winning team backed by world class investors, including Sequoia Capitol. A security service powered by AI, robots and human Robot Specialists working together, Cobalt has led the way in using robots in public spaces and in dramatically new ways of doing security.

The challenge with any exhibit design for a large expo is not only to attract visitors, but also to attract the right visitors. Add to that the delicate balance of providing adequate snazz without looking frivolous to a deeply skeptical industry.

Blending budget, industry research, brand strength and a great product, I developed an exhibit design that quickly told the Cobalt Robotics story, and promised even more compelling details to security professionals who entered the booth space.

Beyond the automatic cool factor that comes with having beautifully designed robots in motion, we found a way to give a taste of how remote robot specialists are able to step in when a human presence is needed: we positioned a specialist’s workstation so that visitors could look over their shoulder and watch real interactions “from the driver’s seat”—an exciting way to demonstrate the power of the security solution.

Working with the team at Ion Exhibits was seamless. Their professionalism and craftsmanship took a lot of stress out of the project. I’m looking forward to working with them again!
